Avarus Figurine (Ships in September)

Note: This is a preorder item which will not ship until September since each figurine must be assembled, painted, detailed, and packaged by hand.

Echoing through the black corridors of the ocean palace, the pulse of the Avarus machine is steady and solemn. The burnished abomination beats like a heart, extracting and expelling violent bursts of energy. Every metallic organ has a function and a failsafe, ensuring the maintenance of its relentless beat in the face of any attack.

Camille Young finally unveils Avarus, an intricate re-envisioning of CT's doomsday device. Camille's figurines generally sell out in a matter of hours, so for the first time ever we're accepting preorders! For a limited time, every customer who orders is guaranteed to get a figurine.

Avarus is being cast in resin by the fine artists at Mana Studios and individually assembled, finished, painted, and packaged by Camille.

Artist's Statement

I sculpted Avarus in about a month and a half using Sculpey III. The artists at Mana Studios mold and cast each one in resin and they are then hand painted by me. I decided to incorporate the word 'mammon' into the symbolic icons which cover its surface. Mammon means material wealth and gain regarded as an evil influence.

The tick on the front symbolizes the machine's purpose, while the Anubis heads on the shoulders foreshadow destruction brought about by greed. Lavos' three forms are represented on the back and Queen Zeal's greedy eyes look out from under her crown. The meaning of the electrical diagram is left as an exercise for the engineers out there. Moth wings represent how ephemeral material wealth and gain are: "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy…" Matthew 6:19
